The Library of Glissant Studies is a collective project which would not be possible without the help and support of dozen of dedicated individuals and institutions across the world. Our team aim at developing researches in the field of Glissant Studies by indexing information, and facilitating collaborations between scholars, students, and universities.
After teaching French literature at the University of Bologna, Elena Pessini is since 2007 a researcher in French Language and Translation in the DUSIC Department (Dipartimento di Scienze Umanistiche Sociali e delle Imprese Culturali) at the University of Parma (Italy). She has published extensively on contemporary French writers (Marguerite Yourcenar, Michel Tournier, Philippe Claudel…), literary myths, and Francophone literatures (French Antilles and Haiti). In May 1995, she organized the first symposium in Italy entirely devoted to Édouard Glissant. She published numerous articles about Glissant’s work as well a book untitled Rêver le monde, écrire le monde. Théorie et narrations d’Édouard Glissant(Bologna, Clueb, 2004) with Carminella Biondi. As a member of the scientific committee of the journalStudi Francesi,she leads the bibliographic section devoted to French literature. She is also a member of the Editorial Board of the literary journal Francofonia, for which she notably edited three issues: Le frémissement de la lecture, parcours littéraires d’Édouard Glissant(Francofonia 63, automne 2012), Écrire dans tous les français du monde(Francofonia 50, printemps 2006), Lectures et écritures haïtiennes(Francofonia 49, automne 2005). She translated several Francophones Caribbean authors into Italian including Édouard Glissant (Il quarto secolo, Edizioni Lavoro), and Émile Olivier (Passaggi, Nuova Editrice Berti).
